Lu Shaoqian is a native of Shanyang County. Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty once dressed in commoner’s clothes and brought gold to visit him, wanting to learn the Dao from him. Lu Shaoqian leaned on a golden staff and held an ivory fan as he went out to welcome him.

鲁少千者，山阳人也。汉文帝尝微服怀金过之，欲问其道。少千拄金杖，执象牙扇，出应门。
